Points of Interest: Wahpeton is located at the meeting of Minnesota woodlands and North Dakota prairie. Wahpper, world's largest catfish, is located in the Kidder Recreation Area along the Red River. Chahinkapa Zoo features 150+ native and exotic animals in a natural environment (admission fee). Chahinkapa is a Sioux word meaning "End of the Woods." An antique 1926 carousel, one of 150 in the United States, and chapel are restored at the zoo entrance. Historical collections are located at the Richland County Historical Museum. The ND State College of Science is known for its beautiful landscaped campus.
